How do Forum meetings work?

The Forum will have 3 meetings a year.

There will also be pre-meetings.

They will happen one week before each Forum meeting.

Pre-meetings support members to understand what the Forum meeting will be about.

The pre-meeting will go for 1 hour.

The Forum has a Secretariat who:

  • organises Forum meetings
  • creates and shares meeting information.

The Secretariat will let Forum members know:

  • when Forum meetings will be
  • if a Forum meeting needs to be in-person.

We will support Forum members to join in‑person Forum meetings.

  • over the phone
  • online.

There will be a Chair to run Forum meetings.

The Chair is a person from the NDIS Commission who will run Forum meetings.

Rules about meetings

2 people and the number 11.

Forum meetings need at least 11 members to attend.

A Forum member can have another person attend a Forum meeting for them.

Forum members need to tell the Secretariat if they think there might be a conflict of interest.

A conflict of interest is when someone might make a choice that is good for them but isn’t fair to other people.

The Secretariat will tell the Chair about a member’s conflict of interest.

Members should take part in Forum meetings in a way that respects everyone.
