What do we do?

The NDIS logo.

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) supports participants across Australia.

Participants are people with disability who take part in the NDIS.

The NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission (NDIS Commission) makes sure participants:

  • are safe
  • get good quality services.

Quality is about services that:

  • support participants in the ways they need

  • give participants choice and control.

3 providers. One of the providers is pointing at themselves.

And we make sure NDIS providers are doing a good job.

Providers support people by delivering a service.

We also manage risks to participants.

A thought bubble with a high risk icon inside it and a stop icon next to it.

We try to:

  • understand these risks
  • stop them from happening.

This includes keeping participants safe from:

A fist.

  • violence – when someone hurts you physically

A person with their hands on their head.

  • abuse – when someone treats you badly

A person sitting on the ground and looking sad.

  • neglect – when someone is not helping you the way they are supposed to help you

A person standing over someone who is sitting on the ground and looking sad.

  • exploitation – when someone takes advantage of you.
